The classes graduated in 2019 from the courses of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy have had the graduation ceremony on December 18th, at the Theater of the Medical School of USP.
The ceremonial table was composed by the following Professors: Roger Chammas, Vice-Director of the Medical School of the Universidade de São Paulo; Milton de Arruda Martins, President of the Graduation Committee of FMUSP; Selma Lancman, Head of the Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy (FOFITO) Department and Titular Professor of the Occupational Therapy course; Eliane Schochat, Titular Professor of the FOFITO Department; Ana Carolina Basso Schmitt, Coordinator of the Physiotherapy course; Alessandra Giannella Samelli, Coordinator of the Speech Therapy course; and Marta Carvalho de Almeida, Coordinator of the Occupational Therapy course.
The representatives of the courses came to the stage and took their oaths, followed by the other students, before the actual graduation, marked by the delivery of the diplomas.
The president of the Graduation Committee of FMUSP has spoken about the future of the newly graduated and quoted Paulo Freire: “Education doesn’t transform the world. Education changes people. People transform the world”. Besides, Prof. Milton offered some tips to the students and reminded them of some important pillars to the professional development: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
Prof. Roger Chammas pointed out for the acting of the newly graduated and said “you will not only provide care, you will provide care and innovation, you will provide care and disseminate knowledge. The University survives through you, who are our future”.
