The outpatient care is divided in 15 subspecialties: General and Didactic Outpatient, Dermatological Surgery, Pediatric Dermatology, Onicopatia, Atopic Dermatitis, Collagenase, Mycology, Unaesthetic Dermatitis, Photodermatitis and Phototherapy, Stomatology, Hansenology, Vasculitis, Psoriasis, Cutaneous Oncology, Acquired and Primary Immunodeficiency, Bullous Diseases, Cryosurgery and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The Dermatology division is one of the few in the world to have an own outpatient clinic.
Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy (FOFITO)
The first human resources graduating and empowerment experiences in the Physical Therapy, Speech therapy and Occupational Therapy areas occurred since the 1950s. The Department, made up by the three areas, was constituted in 1999, with the name of FOFITO. The courses’ political-pedagogic projects are guided by both the innovation generated by the production and knowledge of the specific areas and by the tendencies that emanate from the field of the health and education policy.

It comprises the disciplines of Pathophysiology Basis of Medical Clinics in Gastroenterology, Medical Clinics and Digestive System Surgery. Among the main research projects, there are: viral hepatitis and cirrhosis, autoimmune liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, liver transplant and pancreas transplant.

Legal Medicine, Medical Ethics and Social and Occupational Medicine
It develops actions in four areas: Legal Medicine, Social and Occupational Medicine, Bioethics and Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. It also offers the following services: CEARAS – Studies Center and Care Related to Sexual Abuse, SSO – Occupational Health Service along with FMUSP-HC and the IMREA – Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine Institute. With its Caminho de Volta (“Way Back”) Project, it collaborates with the governmental organs in the searching for missing children in the State of São Paulo.

Obstetrics and Gynecology
The education activities are performed during the Pre-Clinical Cycle (3rd and 4th years), the Internship (5th and 6th) and also in Physiotherapy. In the Post-Graduation Lato Sensu, it offers Medical Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Mastology, besides specialization courses in the Fetal Medicine, High-Risk Pregnancy, Human reproduction, Endometriosis and Urogynecology. It performs assistential activities in the Hospital das Clínicas, University Hospital and in healthcare centers (Região Oeste Project).

The Ophthalmology program is composed by the following disciplines: Ocular Anatomy and Physiology, Ocular Exam, Refractional Errors, Fundus Exam, Acute Visual Loss, Chronic Visual Loss, Red Eye Syndrome, Ophthalmology First Aid Post, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Ocular Manifestation in Systemic Diseases, Drugs Effects in the Eyes. One of the characteristics of the Otorhinolaryngology Department of FMUSP is the intense scientific production. It aims to graduate physicians able to conduct clinically and surgically any type of otorhinolaryngological pathology.

It is national reference in spien cord injuries, reconstructive microsurgery, limbs reimplant, micro-invasive surgery of fractures, arthroscopy techniques, reconstruction with stents or with tissue bank in the large resections of the musculoskeletal tumors, traumatology and patients rehabilitation.

It is responsible for 13 disciplines offered to the Medicine Undergraduate Course, among them: Set of Special Pathology Disciplines and Telemedicine. The Department is also responsible for the patients’ autopsies of Hospital das Clínicas, by the Pathological Anatomy by the HC Central Laboratory.
The acting of the Department in the education area covers the Undergraduate areas (including the Internship), Post-Graduate lato sensu (including the Medical Residency) and Post-Graduate stricto sensu. In Undergraduate, accounts for a Psychiatry Module in the discipline of Physiological Basis of the Internal Medicine, Medical Psychology, Clinical Psychiatric. In the research context, it exercises important national leadership in basic and clinical research in areas like Pediatrics and Adolescent Psychiatry, Development Psychiatry, Preventive Psychiatry, Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Schizophrenia, Geriatric Psychiatry, Genetics and Epidemiology.

The Department is linked to the Radiology Institute (InRad) of Hospital das Clínicas, of FMUSP, composed by the divisions of Imaging Diagnostics, Interventionist Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. The imaging Diagnostics area includes several groups divided in Thorax, Internal Medicine, Neuroradiology, Head and Neck, Skeletal Muscle and Woman’s Imaging.
