About the Program


Students enrolled in foreign institutions as undergraduate students may attend classes at USP Medical School (FMUSP) as undergraduate exchange students, thus obtaining credits or developing academic researches compatible with their subject fields.

If the institution which the student belongs to doesn’t have an academic agreement with USP, it’s still possible to apply for an exchange at the University, but it’ll depend on the number of vacancies available

  • be enrolled in a medical course at a Foreign Education Institution;
  • have an excellent academic record;
  • be nominated by the international office of your home university (see topic "how to apply");

Exchange on the 1st semester (January – June): online application from August 1st until September 30th (nomination until September 15th).

Exchange on the 2nd semester (July – December): online application from February 1st until April 30th (nomination until April 15th) - period extended due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Results: around 30 days after the application closes.

To attend the Internship: Portuguese Proficiency is required: B2 level or higher.

To attend the Electives: depend on the elective (most of them are offered to English speakers)

USP is a public state institution that receives exchange students at no cost.

The accommodation is also for free.
