The team from the Information Technology Center (NTI), coordinated by Aurélio Vitorino, presented last Tuesday, August 10th, to the Medical Education Development Center (CEDEM), represented by Profa. Patrícia Tempski and Dr. Matheus Torsani, Dr. Felipe Neme, Executive Director, and Prof. Milton Martins, president of the Undergraduate Committee, an automation system for distributing students and teachers in Google Classroom rooms.

This project, which started about 8 months ago, came from a demand by CEDEM, currently responsible for the Google Workspace for Education at FMUSP, to facilitate the insertion of students and professors in Classroom, the official platform for the Graduation. Based on this objective, the NTI team developed an innovative system, capable of integrating data from the USP academic system (Jupiterweb) with the Google API, making it possible for rooms to be created and populated in Google Classroom with information from this system with just one click.

"Initially, we looked for a solution with Google partner companies. We reached a budget of more than 100,000 reais annually for a solution that would not be as good as the one presented by NTI. The work that used to take more than two months can be done now in less than a week", highlights Dr. Matheus Torsani, coordinator of CEDEM.

"The successful delivery of this project was possible due to the integration of the different internal NTI teams (infrastructure, systems and services) associated with the Graduation and CEDEM. Understanding the processes, identifying the relevant points and the adoption of best practices in the development of the system, made the difference," says the NTI technical coordinator.
