The InovaHC, Technological Innovation Center of the Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (HCFMUSP), and the Economic Development Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SDE-SP) held the launch event of the first edition of In.Cube, on February 22nd, 2021.

In.cube is the innovation support program of InovaHC and SDE-SP for the generation of new businesses - products, processes and services - in health and social impact, based on technological research and projects inserted in the HCFMUSP Complex. The methodology created and tested at In.cube will serve as a foundation for the consolidation of public policies for innovation, science and technology in the State, aiming at replication in other science and technology and research institutes in São Paulo.

To participate in the first edition of the In.cube, on December 9th, 2020, It was presented to the public the notice for selection of program projects, with the official opening of registrations. The 71 projects registered until January 24th, 2021 were screened by the In.cube team, blindly analyzed by a network of expert refeers, classified and referenced by the HCFMUSP Innovation Commission. Twenty projects were selected based on the score of the announcement criteria.

The event, hosted at the Institute of Radiology (InRad), had the restricted participation - due to the pandemic of COVID-19 and the determinations of the São Paulo Plan - of representatives of the Secretary of State for Health and the Secretary for Economic Development, authorities of the FMUSP-HC System, in addition to leaders from public and private institutions. To the rest of the audience, the launch was broadcast live through the digital channels of InovaHC.
