The KIDS SKIDS SAVE LIVES BRASIL (KSLB) reached the impressive mark of 10,000 children, adolescents and adults trained in basic life support, with effective skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation of adult victims. This feat represents a significant advance in the dissemination of knowledge in first aid in the country.
The KSLB is formed by professors, students, researchers and employees of the Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de São Paulo (FMUSP), Fundação Faculdade de Medicina (FFM) and other volunteers and instructors from partner institutions. It is coordinated by FMUSP Professors Naomi Kondo Nakagawa, ofPhysiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy Department, Maria José Carvalho Carmona, of Surgery Department, and Antônio de Pádua Mansur of Cardiopneumology Department.
Among the institutions and educational units that joined the program, several Municipal and State Schools stand out, in addition to University of São Paulo entrance exam students. Also participating in the program were security guards from the Hospital das Clínicas Complex, FMUSP firefighters and members of the National Institute of Cardiology, among others.
